Taktshang Goemba (Tiger's Nest) is a monastery perched approximately 2700 ft above Paro Valley. Our steep ascent to the monastery took approximately two hours. Along the way, we stopped at the wooden tea house to take in the marvelous view while snacking on cookies and tea. En route, we passed young and old locals making the trek to pray. It was a truly marvelous way to begin our one month sojourn in Bhutan.

Taktshang Goemba (Tiger's Nest) is a monastery perched approximately 2700 ft above Paro Valley. Our steep ascent to the monastery took approximately two hours.
